Weingut Roterfaden - Lemberger 2018: Lemberger can taste so tender, so fresh, so hot: Olympia and Hannes bring the most exciting, most drinkable interpretations of this grape variety from German regions to the bottle. Has an attractive herbaceous-greenish scent, also of cubeb pepper, a bit like cool Cabernet Franc - blackberry leaves, eucalyptus-menthol candy, cassis, cranberry, sour cherry and juniper, also a touch of rapeseed-reductive spice. With a little air, smoky fat and cool peppery spices complete the picture. Sips juicy, cool-spicy and sensationally slim (11% !!), ideally after 1-2 hours in the refrigerator.
Lemberger is the German name for Blaufränkisch or Kékfrankos.
The wines then remain in used barrels until they are bottled on the full lees. They are not filtered and only minimally sulphurized during bottling. This is German natural wine as we love it!
