WOW. What a revelation on the nose. Completely contrary to our expectations. The sensation of candied oranges and cinnamon, reminds a little of Christmas cookies. But at Sextant - Julien Altaber - Clin d'Oeil is much more. Ground white pepper is added. In addition, an ethereal note develops in the nose, reminiscent of walks in fir or pine forests. With more air in the glass, green tea is added.
In the mouth, the Clin d´Oeil then brings positive, pleasant bitter substances. That is enormous, but nevertheless extremely bright in its aroma language. This orange wine gives us enormous pleasure in drinking. The Cuvée from Viognier and Gamay is full of juice and demands the palate in just the right amount. Not too much, not too little. Candied orange, but also white pepper and the essential elements also show up in an elegant way in the aftertaste.
The Clin d'oeil is a cuvée made from Viognier and Gamay and was aged on the mash for eight months. It was filled unfiltered, fined and unsulphurized.
