And another absolute hit Chardonnay from the Seckinger brothers
The 2021 Kapellenberg was aged in used wooden barrels made of Palatinate oak, baked apple, fresh figs and grapefruit zest. On the palate a creamy texture with good acidity at the beginning, salt and minerality then develop with aeration and time, the acidity becomes carrying - gives it good grip and traction, safe future potential. Great cinema part 2!
The Kapellenberg is the first single-vineyard Chardonnay that Jonas Seckinger has bottled and we can count ourselves lucky with this debut. The Kapellenberg site is in Maikammer in the southern Palatinate and was one of the reasons why the Seckinger family took over a large piece of vineyards in this region. The soil is meager and chalkier than in the Mittelhardt at home and the Chardonnays in particular feel particularly at home here, given the soil a more annoying structure and more mineral pressure on the palate.
