Any cab lovers out there? We know you're out there ...
We got this extremely small winemaker through our friends from Achilleé met and were immediately enthusiastic. A real secret tip that you will hardly find anywhere else because Antoine from La Petie Odysee only produces a few bottles a year.
On paper, the LA PETITE ODYSSÉE - ROUGE FURIE looks like a great red wine alá Bordeaux cuvée, but it is everything: finesse, elegance and length, rolled up in a dark red fruit cover. This wine has everything we love from Roussion: an intense color and a bouquet of red fruits. A super juicy and complex wine. You can age this wine, but is that what you really want? Just too delicious!
We love the Rouge Furie with red meat and hearty dishes or just because with friends.
Furie comes from a vineyard between the ages of 20 and 45 years. All grape varieties are fermented separately. First Abouriou, short maceration (3 days) whole grapes. As a second Merlot, 3 weeks of maceration and then the Cabernet Sauvignon is harvested later in October, using the same method as for Merlot. The curvée arises after 10 months of maturation (70 % in old barrels). Of course, all yeasts are natural.
Grapes:
52% Merlot, 22% Abourjout, Cabernet Sauvignon 26%
Vinification: Biodynamically and organically practiced with a penchant for soil protection. No heavy tillage / weeding or synthetic products in the vineyards. Local yeasts, no fining or filtering, minimal SO2 when bottling.
