A Heinrich-Classic and a must-try for all fans of mash-based products.
“Shake it don't stir it”.
Crazy color - far from gray, but bright orange. In the gray freedom, Pinot Blanc, Pinot Gris and Chardonnay form an extraordinary symbiosis. Enchantingly multi-layered and very clear, pure fragrance with the much-cited cornucopia of aromas (here the term is really appropriate!): Assam tea, heaps of orange peel, cool menthol and sage notes, also light tobacco, cubeb pepper, vibrantly lively grapefruit notes, small reddish notes Berries (cassis and cranberry) and, with the addition of air, smoky and nutty hints, then tastes exactly as high-quality mash contact white wines should taste: robust, with a posh and very firm tannin corset, subtle and fresh acidity and a loooong aftertaste.
In short: handpicked, spontaneously fermented, two weeks on the mash, 17 months in Amphorae and matured on its own yeast in large used oak barrels.
The orange Joker of Gernot and Heike Heinrich invites to big gulps.
Enjoy it, Graue Freyheit 4 life!
