Buondonno
You can say that Gabriele Buondonno and Valeria Sodano are pioneers. They are certainly among the best organic producers in the Chianti region. Since 1988 they have dedicated themselves body and soul to a production that is as natural and simple as possible. With as little energy as possible. Without compromising on the quality of the wines, of course. They chose organic farming from the start and are part of the “Triple A” movement. Today they cultivate more than 12 hectares of vineyards on clay-calcareous soils.
Large concrete and steel tanks enable natural fermentation, which is activated by the indigenous yeasts of the various vines. In fact, there are many grape varieties that are grown out of curiosity and the willingness to experiment. The most common grape variety is, of course, the Sangiovese. This gives rise to the Chianti Classico, Riserva di Chianti Classico and Rosso Toscano. You also have Trebbiano, Syrah and Cabernet Franc Toscani.
“Right from the start of our activity we tended towards organic farming, because it seemed and still seems to be the best way to go. To work on tiptoe within the natural environment and try to change its balance as little as possible. "
We love Your wines! Dolce vita at its best! And if you're ever in Chanti and need a place to stay, you have a wonderful agriturismo!
